Daily Public Domain Images for 20 July 2011: Digi-stamps for OWH #11: Turkey, Thanksgiving Sentiments, Children’s Book Illustration, Elephant, and Belated Birthday Sentiment.

Yes, I know it’s the 21 July. Please see the note on the front page of my blog.

Well, I will get right into it then, now that I am able to post.

To SAVE any image, click on it to view it full-sized, and then right-click to save it to your computer. Feel free to use these images any way you want – they are made groom public domain / no use restriction images or from my own word art of various sentiments. Attribution is NOT necessary, but would be nice. Sharing the link with your friends would be even nicer! Thanks! (If you want to follow me on Networked Blogs on Facebook, or on Twitter, or other social media, there are buttons in the right hand column.) Comments to let me know you like these or to suggest images / sentiments you want / need are most welcome. First, for Thanksgiving:

Turkey for Thanksgiving!

This image is actually cut out from a larger one, which in turn was an illustration by Henry Ryland for a 1918 children’s book, English Fairy Tales, by J. Jacobs:

Personally, I have no idea what tale this is, but it is an interesting image and the turkey looked perfect for Thanksgiving. And now, a few Thanksgiving sentiments for you:

Don't know who Dylan Brody is, but the quote is too funny.

Okay, enough Thanksgiving for now! Onto something else. How about a belated birthday set? I put the sentiment in 3 parts so you could arrange them on your card as you please (or use just part 3):

: First the elephant….

: …then the sentiment part 1…

: ..sentiment part 2…

: and sentiment part 3.

You can, of course, use any elephant themed stamp for this. A cartoon elephant would work equally well as the realistic one I posted.
