Boys Riding Goats

Boys riding goats, Isisford, Australia, 1918. From the State Library of Queensland image donation to Wikimedia Commons.

Okay, those crazy hats were fun, but on to something else. I think I’m going to go hunting through my images for oddities – odds and ends that strike my fancy and, hopefully, yours as well.

Today’s image is from a donation of images to Wikimedia Commons by the State Library of Queensland, Australia. In this 1918 photograph, four boys – identified as Owen McVey, Walter Grant, James Grant, and Carl Vaughan – are shown riding goats in Isisford, Australia. The goats don’t seem to mind, but the boys don’t seem to be too enthusiastic about having their picture taken!
