Monarch Bicycle Ad from the magazine "Birds Illustrated by Color Photography", March 1897. From the Project Gutenberg ebooks.
I love this ad. It doesn’t even show the actual item being advertised: Bicycles. But the lion is a great graphic, especially with the slogan at the top: “The KING can do no wrong”.
Often I chose the Daily Public Domain graphic simply because something in it appeals to me visually. It’s actually a rather random process, but I hope you enjoy my choices!
As always, click on the graphic to see it / download it full-sized.
Peace,
Bekka
